The year is 2025. What remains of the PPDC has successfully closed the Breach through which the Kaiju entered Earth, bringing an end to a war that lasted more than a decade at the cost of trillions of dollars and millions of lives. The nightmare was over. Humanity had won. It was time to mourn the dead, celebrate the living and begin to rebuild that which was lost. But while the terror on one world was ending, for countless parallel others the battle is still being waged. Shatterdomed is set on one such parallel Earth, one facing an almost unique set of circumstances. By some trick of fate its positioning in the Universe has it placed directly in the path of numerous energy waves generated whenever a Breach is destroyed, each one disturbing and bending the fabric of Time and Space that surrounds it a little more. Kaiju are not the only alien visitors this world has to contend with now. Humans and objects - including Jaegers! - from nearby mirror Earths have started to turn up, drawn in by the fluctuations in Time and Space. Now the native PPDC has to figure out how to deal with the new guests on top of handling the Kaiju threat. Fun. |
